Independent reading The Scorch Trials
For independent reading project I decided to read the amazing book, The Scorch trials by James Dashner. This novel takes place in 3 parts: the dormitory, the desert in Mexico Border, and the city, in this settings Thomas the main character found many obstacles. The main character is Thomas the kid that create the Maze he is described as a 5.9 foot with brown hair guy, he is an adventurer and like to acomplish want he wants, other character is Teresa the girl that supports Thomas he is also a creator of the Maze, she is really beautiful, thin but not a lot, and has pale skin with a really black hair. Newt is one of Thomas best friends and he describes many of the character, he is also the narrator. Thomas, Theresa, and the other gladers are rescued and putted in some dormitory were they get changed, Thomas wakes up and Theresa is not more there in stead is another glader. All the gladers get the news that says they are about to face the Scorch Trials, and will have two weeks and no rules to reach the safe haven one hundred miles north of their starting location. Thomas and the other Gladers encounter deadly traps, Cranks, and the group of girls of which Aris was formerly a part as they struggle to get across a scorching desert, through a city, and over the mountains beyond the city. Thomas's group brings along Jorge and Brenda, two early-stage Cranks, who agree to help them get through the city in exchange for a shot at getting a cure. However, Teresa betrays Thomas, breaking his heart, by being willing to kill him as WICKED has instructed her to do. This destroys the feelings that Thomas has had for her, even though Thomas does not die. Teresa tells him she would have gladly sacrificed anything between them to make sure he is still alive. When they make it through the Scorch trials, Thomas is separated from Teresa, who attempts to converse with him telepathically. Thomas tells her to leave him alone, and Teresa tells him WICKED is good.
I highly recommend this book because it involves mystery and action two things that I like a lot of a book. The author does a really good job relating the story because he uses a character so that becomes the book more exiting and because it uses a really good vocabulary for it. I recommend this book to people who like books of adventure and mystery.
